This particular issue touches Google Pixel XL. Report from Android Police states that updating Pixel XL to version 8.0 causes that smartphone to often restart with no clear reason. Issue has been reported to Google but the company says that it is, quote, ”Won’t Fix (Not Reproducible)”. Going back to Android Nougat fixes the issue, which proves that the fault is on Oreo’s side.

It looks like it will take Google some time to solve this problem. Perhaps it is a good idea to hold off updating to Oreo until then.
