According to an already unavailable report from KGI, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will come out with a fingerprint sensor built into the phone’s display. Samsung’s decision is said to have been influenced by Apple moving away from the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner in its upcoming iPhone 8 – in other words, Samsung wants to keep up with the gimmicks. Report also states that Note 9’s fingerprint scanner will use Egis sensors, which is significantly costlier than Synaptics, sensors that the company used before.
These are extremely early rumours – after all, Galaxy Note 8 have not even been announced yet, much less Note 9. The fact that people are gossiping and searching for leaks on a phone so far away is a testament to Samsung’s popularity.
