Oh no! BlackBerry KEYone screens pop out due to lack of adhesive

That one’s funny. You know BlackBerry Keyone, right? The most recent BB flagship phone, an overall very good device with a cool QWERTY keyboard and good battery life? Well, as often is the case with flagships, not all that glitters is gold, and KEYone seems to have a pretty rough defect to it. YouTuber, one JerryRigEverything, has posted a video in which he stress-tested the device. KEYone did well in scratch and burn tests, proving to be resilient… that is, until the youtuber tried to bent it. Upon adding a bit of pressure to the phone, its screen popped right out of the body. Why did it? As it turns out, the amount of adhesive (glue) used to stick the screen to the body was minimal (youtuber says there is none, but this statement was proven to be false – there was just too small an amount to hold the device together), causing the display to leave the phone’s body.

JerryRigEverything is not the only one with this issue, although, to be fair, the number of people having this problem seems to be minimal. So says BlackBerry, at least – company has reacted quickly, issuing a statement in which it promises quick replacement under the warranty for anyone with a faulty unit. As big of a silly fail that the situation seems to be, I am glad to see BlackBerry being fast and positive in its response (unlike some other, issue-deying companies. Cough, Samsung, cough). Hopefully the issue is indeed a one-in-a-thousand kind, and we will forget all about it in a week.
