Foxconn plans on selling its own smartphones

Internet website DigiTimes reports that the Taiwan company Foxconn plans on creating its own line of smartphones and selling them in Japan. Until now, the over one-million employees corporation is known mainly for producing phones for contractors such as Apple or Nokia, though they have already published InFocus, a low/mid-range phone released in Asia.

We have yet to learn any details on the upcoming product. All we know is that Foxconn plans on releasing it in the first quarter of 2017 and that it will be produced by Sharp, Foxconn’s subsidiary. Sharp, bought over by Foxconn this March for 3.5 billion, is a popular brand name in Japan.
