Meizu M3 Max – slayer of Xiaomi Mi Max?

Screen: 6″ 1080p(?);
SoC: MediaTek Helio P20;
RAM: 3(?)/4GB;
Storage: 32/64GB;
Others: fingerprint scanner;
Price: Yuan 1799/1999
I marked not confirmed entries with “(?)”.
After curency transition prices are $270 and $300. Are those good prices? It’s difficult question because we must take into account two things: Xiaomi Mi Max (major rival of M3 Max) and SoC used.
SoC: Snapdragon 650/652/652;
RAM: 3/3/4GB;
Storage: 32/64/128GB;
Price: Yuan 1499/1699/1999.
As for SoC differences here are major informations:
SD650 have 64-bit cores (6) with clock up to 1,8GHz (2x Cortex A72, 4x Cortex A53), GPU Adreno 510, 28nm;
SD652 have 64-bit cores (8) with clock up to 1,8GHz (4x Crtex A72, 4x Cortex A53), GPU Adreno 510, 28nm;
Helio P20 have 64-bit cores (8) with clock up to 2.3GHz (8x Cortex A53), GPU Mali Mali-880MP2, 16nm;
So what numers say? Well, Snapdragons SoCs are more powerful but Helios 16nm technology means that it will use less energy and will give less heat.
Basically with same price major difference will be on power – energy axis. But recent problems with security of phones with Snapdragon can change decission of some consumers.
First tests and performance comparison should be avaible in next week – M3 Max will launch this monday (5th Sptember).
