Experts from IHS undertook the task of calculating the production costs of smartphone Galaxy S7. As you might imagine, they are much smaller than the shop price of the device.
IHS for many years provides us with information on the cost of production of specific smartphones. And as in usuall, these are much lower than the shop price of flagship smartphones. It is no different in the case of Samsung Galaxy S7.
With IHS estimates that producing of one copy of Samsung Galaxy S7 costs just $255. For comparison, in the US smartphone can be purchased for around $670.
The most expensive element of the smartphone is processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, which costs Koreans $62. Of course, Samsung is selling in many markets Galaxy S7 with its own Exynos 8890 system and will cost company already a lot less money than SoC from Qualcomm.
