Philips announced in China two new smartphones, Philips Sapphire S616 and Sapphire Life V787.
A large number of displays on current smartphones, are emiting a lot of blue light, which strains eyes of the users. New technology called SoftBlue, which reduces emissions of blue light up to 86%, has been applied in both models from Philips.It will make screens of new smartphones more friendly for our eyes.
Both devices have Android 5.1 Lollipop with an interface overlay from Philips Sapphire S616, will be equipped with 5.5-inch IPS display Full HD resolution and is powered by octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor 1.3GHz and 2GB RAM.
The device has 16 GB of internal memory, with the possibility to extend it up to 128 GB using MicroSD card it also has two cameras: Front 5MP with wide angle lens and the 13MP rear camera with LED flash.
Philips Sapphire Life V787 has similar specification to S616, main difference from the other smartphone is it’s 13MP rear camera, which includes Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), with the can focus in just 0.2 seconds, battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh, which allows up to 47 hours of talk time, thanks to the company’s technology called Xenium. We only know so far the price for Sapphire S616 it will be 1,399 Yuan which is about $222.
