U.S. Cellular today announced the availability of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. It is the first device to be sold by U.S. Cellular that can access its nascent LTE 4G network. The LTE network is active in just a handful of markets so far, including Madison and Milwaukee, Wisc.; Wichita Falls and Lawton, Okla.; Portland, Houlton, Augusta, and Bangor, Me.; Greenville and Elizabeth City, N.C.; and Des Moines, Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, and Davenport, Iowa. According to U.S. Cellular, it will light up LTE in cities in Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, New Hampshire, Oregon, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia by the second half of 2012. The company has yet to announce what phone(s) will be able to access its LTE network.
