Nokia has updated the HTML5 web app version of Nokia Maps for the Android and iOS platforms. When accessed from the browser, Android and iOS users can now use Nokia Maps even when offline, though it requires users to plan ahead by downloading and saving maps before the connection is lost. Nokia imagines this will help reduce data roaming charges. Nokia has also updated the points of interest available within Nokia Maps for Android and iOS devices with a greater selection. Last, the web app provides public transportation directions, as well. Android and iOS device users need only point their browser to m.maps.nokia.com to use the new HTML5 web app.
