Xiaomi plans on opening 1000 retail stores by 2020.

Recent years has not been kind for Xiaomi, seeing the Chinese company’s profits declining, partly due to a poor distribution network. That’s probably the reason why, after hinting about it every now and then, Xiaomi has finally revealed that it’s going offline. They plan on building one thousand shops, which will supposedly bring the company an income of 50 million Yuan per month, or 1.43 million per day. Xiaomi hopes that being able to physically “get the feel” of the device, not to mention being able to just walk in from the street and buy one, will drastically increase their sales, and not only that of their mobile devices but also everything else they offer, from rice cookers to smart bikes.

Will this investment save Xiaomi, or will it be another, possibly last, nail to its coffin? I don’t know. Do you?
