UMi Plus Extreme will be the first smartphone equipped with Helios P20

This year has been good for Helio, with many devices sporting its Helio P10 SoC – ony Xperia XA, HTC A9S, Oppo R9 and Meizu M3 Note being among them. Now, MediaTek is releasing a sequel to it, called Helio P20. Compared to Helio P10, P20 is heavily modernized. The frequency of its 8-core Cortex A53 CPU will reach 2.3 GHz. Old Mali T860MP2 GPU will be upgraded to a T880MP12, with 900 MHz instead of 200 MHz. Phone’s ISP has also seen upgrades, as it has more processing power now and can support up to 24MP single cameras or 13+13MP dual cameras. Helio P20 is manufactured on a 16nm FinFET node, which means lower power consumption and less heat.

That is all great, but when will we be able to see that new SoE in action? Soon, for UMi’s new model, opptimistically called Plus Extreme, will be outfitted with them. That new device may be extreme indeed, for, in addition to the above, it will also sport 6GB of RAM, 64GB of ROM and an Android 7 OS.

UMi Extreme Plus’ price is cosidered to be around $299.99.
