Japanese are working on a shoplifter recognition system

The system is called VaakEye. It works by combining a number of advanced cameras with equally advanced AI. The cameras' job is to film people coming into stores from every angle possible; afterwards, the AI checks their body language for any sign of possible misdeeds. The method is shown in this video. VaakEye is reportedly being made with self-service stores in mind.
